Mahon is an easy going city. It is small and not too noisy.
Mahon is an easy going city. It is small and not too noisy. There is plenty to do and see. You can cover most areas on foot and there is a good bus service to other parts of Menorca. The harbour area is attractive with boat trips which are a great way to see the city and get an idea of its' history. It is also a very pleasant area to walk and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars both in the harbour area and in the centre of town. Menorca has lovely beaches and because it is a relatively small island it is easy enough to reach anywhere from Mahon

Mahon is an interesting town with a large harbour and many individual shops. There is a wide range of cafes and restaurants. The streets are clean and the main town centre is pedestrianised so is very easy to get around.

A good base to discover the rest of the island, I think that buses can get you to a fare number of places but as frequent visitors we invariably have a car waiting at the airport. Mahon is full of character, steeped in history. Boat trips available round the huge harbour.

We spent two nights at this beautiful little boutique hotel in central Mahón. It was a perfect choice. The hotel is beautifully decorated, serves a rich and freshly prepared breakfast each morning and, above all, the hospitality of the staff is outstanding. Ignasi looked after us throughout our short stay and provided us with all the recommendations of things to do and see in Mahón and beyond. A very warm “thank you” — muy amamble!
This is a very special hotel, the loveliest we have ever stayed in. The staff make you feel so welcome and we were greeted at the door as soon as our taxi pulled up.
Beautiful spacious loft room (no.7), Communal areas, patio dining and delicious breakfast. Tastefully and stylishly decorated. I could go on and on about how fabulous this hotel is. Right in the heart of Mahón.

Stayed at the Hostal La Isla twice in one week. At the beginning and at the end of the week. Whilst cycling around Menorca in between.
