This traditional-style, Andalusian country mansion is just south of Los Alcornocales Nature Reserve, midway between Tarifa and Algeciras. We have stayed here several times and would highly recommend it.

This fantastic location also allows you to easily reach the golden beaches of Sotogrande and try out some of the exciting water sports on offer. The whole experience was wonderful - it is a real castle and we loved it. The castle is on top of a hill with the most wonderful views in all directions across the mountains, and to the coast and The Rock of Gibraltar. Our rooms were the standard rooms - fairly basic but clean, spacious and comfy with an unbelievable view and Lesser Kestrels hovering outside. Griffon vultures and eagles flew over the rooftop terrace,. We had booked half board and loved the little restaurant nearby and the local dishes. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and it was excellent value. Breakfast was self service in a little room in the castle and there was plenty of choice. You park at the bottom of the ramp and have to carry your bags up a steep, cobbled walkway into the hotel, so travel light!

A traditional whitewashed building in a lovely natural setting, the Sindhura's rooms are sophisticated and well-equipped, with air conditioning, minibar and satellite TV. Nice and tranquil hotel for a relaxing stay. We have noticed that in that region it is more windy - but the beaches going down is about 15 - 20 min by car. Nearby Vajer de la Frontera town is located - highly recommend to visit.
