Located next to the car-free centre of Appenzell, Adler Hotel is set in a beautiful traditional Appenzell-style building. It offers free Wi-Fi and wired internet access, a breakfast buffet, and a charging station for electric car. Staying here was a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Junior Suite with Mountain View, and it was absolutely remarkable what the proprietor has done with this space. Absolutely the most comfortable and adorable small hotel we have stayed in Switzerland!! The roomy suite had views to the local mountain peaks, and was adorned with a large family-style table & chairs, comfortable furniture including a recliner and a couch, a flat-screen TV, and even a piano with busts of Beethoven and Brahms (I think, anyway). Just couldn't have been cozier!! Excellent breakfast. And it was clear the staff are devoted to the comfort and convenience of their guests. Like helping me carry the pizzas from the (excellent) Italian restaurant up to the room the evening my wife wasn't feeling well, Or making a suggestion to visit a local site we weren't even aware of, but turned out to be fantastic. Thank You Thank You Thank You for a moving and memorable stay in your establishment! We hope to be back someday!!

On weekdays, the property can organise a breakfast buffet in the wintergarden, from 06:30 onward. It was clean, comfortable, and a very pleasant place to stay, car parking was literally outside the door, brilliant. Town centre was only a five minute walk, great. Breakfast was also very good.

Offering free private parking, the 3-star apartment is 28 km from Säntis. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the barbecue, or enjoy views of the mountain and garden. We had the lower appartment which was a beautiful place with a gorgeous view from the window with a small terrace to catch the spring sun. New modern bathroom, fully equipped kitchen. We also appreciated a washing machine and a dryer as we came for skiing. The slopes are really close. There was also a pingpong table in the basement which was a plus for the kids.
