Hotel Steinenschanze ligt op minder dan 5 minuten te voet van het stadscentrum van Basel en de universiteit, dicht bij de historische gebouwen en de oude stad. The hotel is very well maintained and very clean. The breakfast buffet was amazing! There is a quiet cozy garden in the back where we had our free welcome drink and the stress of the traveling dissipated right away! The staff is super helpful and friendly!

The staff were superb, couldn't have been more helpful. A very good breakfast and also a very attentive barman. Bed was great too. .alan and Eileen.

The location of Motel one Basel is extraordinary. When I first looked at Google Maps, I thought it was good, but when I arrived and saw it in person, it was out of this world. The doors of the lobby literally opened up onto Barfusserplatz. I might be slightly exaggerating with my descriptions but as I was there during the Christmas Markets, it literally felt like stepping out of my house directly into such a lively market, and that was perfect. The rooms was spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful, he provided an adaptor (I didn't have the Swiss adaptor) and also helped to exchange my large denomination CHF for smaller notes too. Service was always with a smile, nothing like Swiss Hospitality!

It was a perfect place to sleep after a long trip. Everything was very clean, good location and nice people. We arrived late around 23pm but the check in was easy.
