Beautiful setting, lovely rooms. Staff incredible helpful. Special mention of Ricky and Shang who managed to magically get hold of a rare book for me minutes before closing time and having it passed through several people so it was delivered at 11 o’clock pm - I was leaving Kolkata the following morning. I shall always cherish that book.

It's away from the hustle and bustle of the Darjeeling center, but still within a 15 mins' walk from it.

The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat ligt in New Town in Kolkata, op 8 km van de luchthaven. Het beschikt over een buitenzwembad en een 24-uursfitnesscentrum. The Westin is a luxurious hotel providing all the amenities expected of a good 5-star hotel. I am not sure why but maybe because it is off-season in Kolta, but I thought the Westin was excellent value for money. It is probably more expensive in peak season. My room was spacious with an excellent desk and chair. The room has a huge bathtub and the shower is uite spacious. The special Bengali New Year's buffet dinner at Seasonal Tastes on the 10th floor was absolutely superb. I have not had so many excellent and exquisite dishes for a long time. They had live music during the dinner and I was entertaining people I wanted to chat with. We were promptly relocated to another part of the music where is was quieter and one could chat more easily. The gym is well-equipped and the swimming pool is also quite enticing. A special shout-out to the exceptional and helpful staff especially Mr Pranab Banerjee, Jr Sous Chef, who goes out of his way to attend to residents during breakfast, as well as Rinky and Tamal at Seasonal Tasters. The breakfast spread is exceptional. The only other place where the breakfast spread exceeds that offered at The Westin is the ITC Royal Bengal (in my opinion). All in all, I will certainly consider the Westin the next time I am in Kolkata.

The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata ligt in Kolkata en biedt een buitenzwembad, een fitnesscentrum en een spa- en wellnesscentrum. Het ligt op amper 50 meter van de centrale zakenwijk van Dalhousie... De kamer is netjes en ruim. Het personeel is heel alert en reageert zeer snel en met veel toewijding op je vragen of problemen. Het ontbijt is uitzonderlijk. Een meisje speelde er muziek, een magisch moment.
