The hosts are super nice and speak perfect English. They were very helpful recommending restaurants. The breakfast is very tasty. We got to taste their home made apple jam from locally grown apples. Yummy! We also tried the onsen at a hotel nearby. We walked to and from the Monkey Park. The hike up was warm, but still manageable. We found a hot footbath along the way in a neighbouring village.

A true ryokan experience with an exceptional food service. This heritage building is well-kept, dignified, and an absolute delight. There was no need to leave the building to have a satisfying bath—indoor or outdoor. I loved the private bath, and the overall tradition of the ryokan. The staff was so accommodating of our late check-in, took care to deliver our luggage to the station while we go to the Snow Monkey Park, and were attentive to our needs.

Ryuoo Ski Park is 12 km from the accommodation, while Suzaka City Zoo is 24 km from the property. Matsumoto Airport is 104 km away. Akira and his mother were incredibly accommodating and made us feel at home. They made me dinner and breakfast (gluten free and vegetarian) which was amazing. Their private Onsen is lovely and the room was really comfortable. Would highly recommend

Tawaraya Ryokan is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 15-minute walk from Heiwa Kannon. Shiga Kogen Ski Resort is a 30-minute drive away. Great onsen inside the hotel, and possibility to book the outside onsen for a half-hour for a private use (by room). The staff was amazing, helpful and super kind. I absolutely enjoy the traditionnal breafast.

Minshuku Miyama provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 3 km of Jigokudani Monkey Park and 13 km of Ryuoo Ski Park. With an open-air bath, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Guests can use the spa facilities, or enjoy mountain views. Our family absolutely loved this place and the hosts. I would definitely stay here again

Offering a free-use reservable hot-spring bath, shared indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, and traditional multi-course dinners with Shinshu beef, Shibu Hotel is 8 minutes from Yudanaka Train Station on the free shuttle. The traditional rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Owners and staff are extremely pleasant and kind. Onsens were wonderful. We booked a Japanese room and it was huge! And the free shuttle from station and to snow monkey park was an added bonus!
