If you would rather not eat out, you can make use of the kitchenette facilities. Amatera Luxury Apartments (Azzuri) was fantastic. The apartment was clean and spacious and it also had a large balcony with a great view of the sassi area of town. The location was excellent, very close to the action around the centre of the old town but just outside the hustle & bustle. Nothing at all to dislike, and a lot to like 👍

If I could give more than 10 , I certainly would. Giusy is the nicest hostess we have met. She is kind and caring and thinks of anything possible. The apartment is amazing. The location is the best to get to the old town without the need to stay there. There is free and available street parking. The apartment is brand new, spotlessly clean and shining and fully equipped with everything that comes to mind. I don't have enough superlatives so I will say only that- if you are going to Matera this is your place to stay. Thank you Giusy.

The apartment was on the edge of the Sassi district and a very short walk to the centre of Matera, in a very quiet street. The host had left a bottle of wine, milk, cereal, tea, coffee…enough to get us started. We were very grateful. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of linen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in there….it was charming.
