A snack bar and drinks vending machine are available at this ryokan. There is an on-site hot spring open-air bath, 2 indoor public baths in addition to a sauna facility. Massage service is also provided at a surcharge. Luggage storage is offered, while laundry service is offered at an additional charge. Everyone was so nice. We really appreciated getting walked through the onsen etiquette and what to know for our stay in general when we checked in. The onsen was so relaxing including different pools and sauna and liked that the men and women switch each day and they have long hours so got to experience both. Loved the yukatas! Recommend getting a massage and including food.

Founded in the 12th century and beloved by Junichiro Tanizaki and other Japanese novelists, Tosen Goshobo is the oldest of the hot-spring inns at Arima. Standing beside the Taki River, it features outdoor hot-spring baths and traditional in-room meals and is a 5-minute walk from Arima Onsen Train Station. The Japanese rooms have traditional futon bedding and a minibar. The service is very good 👍 appreciate the receptionist help to book ENT clinic for one of our friends, especially we are not fluent in Japanese.

Seikoro Ryokan is located in Kyoto, a 7-minute drive from JR Kyoto Station. Featuring traditional Japanese-style accommodation, it offers a public bath and massage services. Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. I stayed at this wonderful ryokan during my trip to Kyoto, and I’m still deeply impressed! This is a truly authentic Edo-period style ryokan, with a serene and cozy atmosphere that beautifully preserves Japanese tradition. Everything—from the interiors to the hot baths—radiates a deep respect for cultural heritage. I want to especially thank the staff. I accidentally left a valuable piece of jewelry in the bath and had nearly accepted that it was lost. But the staff not only found it—they contacted me and kindly mailed it to my hotel in Tokyo. I was genuinely touched by their honesty, care, and attention. This place became more than just accommodation—it became a special memory of my journey in Japan. I will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly Japanese experience and heartfelt hospitality. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Some units in the ryokan have private entrance and are equipped with wardrobe and tatami. Units are complete with a private bathroom, while certain units at the ryokan also provide guests with a seating area. The breakfast service was a highlight of our stay! The beautiful decor, authentic experience with the irori bbq made in front of you was incredible. Everything was delicious, with strong attention to detail giving you a humble luxury that feels typically Japanese. The room was simply gorgeous and the bed incredibly comfortable. The complementary items (late night soba, stocked fridge) made it even more special and intentional.
