For the location alone, this deserves a 10. Just across from Lions Rock, you can pop across the road and enter the property in no time. The room is as in the pictures, good data connectivity, and the shower is warm. I was worried about rain in the morning but got lucky so had an excellent hike up. Breakfast was amazing and the host super kind and helpful: arranged my transport to Kandy directly with them.

We felt truly rested thanks to the serene environment. The staff were super friendly, everything was very clean, and the breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommended!

It felt like they had thought of everything from live music, magicians, music in the bathrooms and such a beautiful setting in the forest/jungle. The monkeys are so fun to watch especially the ones with the black faces. Yes this hotel is on the higher price point but it’s worth it for the atmosphere and attention from the many staff. Everything can be arranged by the reception with many experiences or a tuk tuk if you need to go to Dambulla. The buffet dinner is amazing with so much to choose from and of high quality and the buffet breakfast is delicious also.

Thal Sewana being more closer to the wilderness promises your stay memorable and much more relaxing…. Thal Sewana has absolutely great location (few minutes walk to both rocks, no need of tuk tuk), room was clean, breakfast was homemade and very nice. But the best part of this place is lady who owns the property. She is very nice person who helps you with everything and give you any advise you need 🙂

Dinesh and his family are very kind, take great care of this place and you feel like in the middle of the jungle because of all the plants surrounding the bungalows. You can hear and see many different birds in the garden. The room was super clean, well maintained and spacious. For breakfast we got incredibly delicious local dishes and so much that we didn't need any lunch. There are also a lot of opportunities to have dinner in walking distance. We would love to stay there again.

A patio with mountain views is offered in all units. Honestly, the absolute highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka! Out of all 7 weeks in Sri Lanka our 3 nights here were the best, and it was 90% due to this Homestay!!! We felt amazingly at home! Chamika was WONDERFUL. He hiked up to pidurangula with us and brought us surprise coffee in a coconut, and didn’t ask for anything in return! We did a cooking class and ate some of the best food ever, and chamika went to swim in a lake with us! The room was as exactly as described with comfortable beds. The breakfast was amazing everyday and just laying on the rock with a view of the lake was stunning! Overall if I could rate this place 1000 stars I would! Thank you guys so much!
