A beautiful Japanese ryokan experience. We loved the private and public onsens - so relaxing. The staff were very helpful and made their best effort to accommodate our requests even with the language barrier (we don't speak any Japanese). Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the surrounding hills and walking trails were lovely to explore.

Hotel is located near the ferry and ropeway, which makes it easy to access even though it's on the most remote side of the lake (we arrived via the ropeway, and left via the ferry). Dinner/breakfast buffets are well furnished, and you'll definitely find something you'll like. There's also an all-you-can-drink bar during dinner, which is nice if you want to try out some Japanese liquors/drinks. The hotel's onsen is very cozy, and I'd definitely recommend going before/after dinner, as it's very peaceful when the sun has set and the lights are dimmed. We had a private hot bath in our room, which was spacious enough to fit the two of us, although in a seating position only. Staff is nice and helpful, and speak english sufficiently well that we had no issue understanding each other.

A very good private onsen room. We didn’t go for the dinner option but judging by breakfast the chefs are very talented. We just didn’t want a kaiseki option as dinner. The beds are really comfortable and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. We wanted a more isolated onsen experience that focused on our privacy and that’s what we got.

Located in Fuji, 41 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Hotel Nishimura features views of the city.

Reception and staff were very helpful and understanding. They spoke good english and made sure my stay was comfortable and even helped with information on my trip to Mt Fuji the next day. View from my hotel room to mt Fuji was another highlight.
