The room was spacious and with all amenities , its also walking distance to the Twizel town centre which has supermarkets, playground for kids & restaurants. We chose to make Twizel our base to travel to Mt.Cook for trails . The property also has good parking space. The rooms were super clean. Would highly recommend this property in the beautiful town of Twizel

The accommodation was amazing! It was so unexpected to get instead of the "room" on booking nice spacious cottage. There were not only full-equipped kitchen, bathroom and two bedroom but also a great living room with so cool and comfortable reclining chairs (exactly like in "Friends" series) and sofa and TV and table football. We were really sad that we have only one night to stay there :(
Nice souvenir shop across the road, some sheep and a cat on the backyard are the bonuses.
And great thanks from our cat for allowing to stay with him (he loved the chairs too)

Really liked this venue and all the magnificent scenery around the lake. Very special location. Excellent value for money. Felt very comfortable. Staff all helpful and friendly. Plenty of local amenities nearby including a large supermarket at good prices.

The location was perfect. Spectacular view of the lake and mountains. The apartment was very well kitted out with everything you could need. Andy went above and beyond to help us retrieve an item we had left behind. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in Cottage 1 and could not fault it.
The staff were very friendly on check-in and were very helpful when we asked about the local area.
The bed was comfortable and the kitchen unit in the cottage was well equipped.

The location is really discrete that makes the entire experience private. We have everything we need in the glass house. The owner is helpful when we get stuck with the snow. Would definitely revisit!

I have been Late Tekapo 3 times, it is more expensive than it was. My recommendation is, stargazing is the only reason to make you stay in Lake Tekapo. Otherwise you could find a better and less expensive accomodation nearby.

Didn’t do much in Twizel itself as it was for us just a stopover on a long roadie, and we had been in the area before. But there is heaps to do and see within a short drive. We had our own food with us so didn’t eat out. The camp kitchen was great.

The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for. There are a couple of nice shops - not much else there although you could visit the nearby hamlets which looked to have some interesting features.
We tried to walk along the river but the path was quite overgrown.

Lovely comfortable older-style motel not far out of Tekapo. Has been refurbished and had everything we needed. Shower was great & beds were very comfortable. Surprisingly quiet despite being near main road. Host was friendly & welcoming. Maybe a little small for more than 2 or 3 people or for more than a couple of nights. Travellers need to bring all food etc as no shops in settlement.

My wife and I really cannot rave about this retreat enough. The villas are exceptionally appointed and spacious. The environment is picturesque, tranquil and peaceful. The food provided in the villas and the meals cooked by the chef are truly delicious and guests individual tastes are catered for. The staff are very welcoming and friendly whilst ensuring that privacy is a key component of the experience. The villas could not be cleaner or more tastefully presented. We doubt anyone could be disappointed in their stay at this retreat.

Lake Tekapo is a beautiful place to visit.
Lake Tekapo is a beautiful place to visit.
The water is bright blue, and you can still see snowy mountains all around in October. The Church of the Good Shepherd is small but very famous and great for photos. At night, the stars are amazing because the sky is so clear. You can also enjoy walking around the small town and take in the breathtaking views from the top of Mt John. It’s a quiet and relaxing place — perfect for a short trip.

My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now.
My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography.
We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos.
Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them.
We were disappointed with our accommodation, but it didn't ruin our
stay in Twizel.

The location worked out for our travel arrangements. It was different and the owners were hard working and was a good overnight stopover. A restaurant/hotel was located 6 mins up the road and a little general store across road with a bit of history and garden furniture to see.

I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.
