Two problems ,too big bicycle (rented), early departure before breakfast were solved with a smile.
Bicycle swapped within minutes and breakfast in containers by the sweet "breakfast hostess"
Also the reception woman helped me book my transport from Nelson to Kaiteriteri.

The beds were supercomfy, and the linen was crisp and clean. They have on-site parking and overall one of the best places we have stayed. In comparison to the motels in Sydney and Perth that we have stayed at, this is definitely the best so far, and the price was definitely great value for money. I already told everyone in my family and we will be booking our next stay there again when we go back to Nelson. Thanks to the team at THE BEACHCOMBER for an awesome hassle free stay. 😁

The place was very clean, well-equipped, and clearly designed with care. The location is great and it’s nice and quiet at night. I booked at 7:30 pm for a 9 pm check-in and only later realized the office closed at 8, so I felt nervous and a bit sorry about the timing. Luckily I got a quick and helpful response which made everything easy. At checkout I met a lovely and friendly staff member who even recognized my room right away. It all made me feel really welcome. Highly recommended!

We are a family of three, parents with a teenager, staying here for two nights. Our room has an outdoor table and four chairs, so we had our take-outs in the second evening and enjoyed the fantastic panoramic view. The location is at the end of an uphill. It's very quiet. We really loved the atmosphere during sunrise and sunset.

Very welcoming and friendly service, with great recommendations for Nelson and the area. Our apartment was comfortable and nicely furnished with everything we needed for our stay. Location is very convenient for sightseeing around Nelson. We were able to walk most everywhere. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food...
Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies.
Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money
The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.

This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond.
This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond. However there is a path where you can walk to Stoke in at about 45 minutes. Richmond has many shops and supermarkets. Stoke has two supermarkets and a few shops.

Loved the friendly people, very creative and arty outlets, and artists, lovely eateries and markets, lots to do and see. We unfortunately got caught in the bad weather and were stranded for two more days - would have been great, but too wet and flooded to do anything else. Not Nelson's fault though! - We will be back to pick up where we left off!

we sadly only arrived for an overnight stay to fly on to our home but the region is usually beautiful. sadly we were there under an emergency weather situation. we ate at Tides restaurant and it was brilliant.
