The owner and her son gave lots of good advice on things to do in the area, and helped with arranging the bookings. Location is very convenient, near places to get a boat on the backwaters and to cross Vembanad lake. My room with private bathroom was spacious and clean. Kumarakom Wood Castle is the perfect place to stay for anyone wanting to experience the serenity of the backwaters.

Location and layout of the hotel, Looks great from photos, but quite Run down property and staff need more training on the hospitality side. Gym machine are all written and rusted, dont even bother going there. Swimming pool in a poor condition.

beautiful setting of bungalows next to the lake. A lovely atmosphere in the hotel, nice surroundings and very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were excellent with a little dressing room too.

Our recent stay at the Rhythm Resort was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The location was perfect, nestled amidst lush greenery with stunning views of Vembanad Lake. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with modern amenities. The resort's amenities were impressive, including a fantastic pool area, a well-equipped fitness center, and a variety of dining options that catered to all tastes.

Didn't see much of the main part of Vaikom but did walks...
Didn't see much of the main part of Vaikom but did walks around the homestay. Visited a Temple and was lucky enough to see a ceremony which involved drumming, dancing, elaborate make-up and fire. There is a Ghandi memorial park to see which is very interesting.

Kumarakom is a beautiful village famous for its serene backwaters, lakes filled with lotus, small roads and above all, its warm and welcoming people. Found it easy to engage in delightful conversations, experiencing genuine local hospitality and culture firsthand.
However, if you are unaccustomed to village life, a few precautions will enhance your experience. Always carry mosquito repellent, especially during evenings near the water bodies, Don't drink Toddy and Spicy foods

Good : Great waterfront locations, lots of superb landscaped...
Good : Great waterfront locations, lots of superb landscaped resorts with lots of birds and calm and quiet neighbourhood.
Bad : Very few good restaurants in and around the area, and food served at most of the upscale star hotels and resorts is very poor in quality and expensive, especially the dinner.
Note : Avoid during peak summer (March & April) as it is very hot and humid.
