I have been traveling Costa Rica for nearly two weeks now, staying at Bed and Breakfasts and cabins across the country. This location has been my absolute favorite, by far. The cabins are basic, but they bring a close comfort to you. I felt incredibly relaxed and was fully able to enjoy their quiet. Surrounding the cabin are a couple of hiking trails and a few small gazebos. You could hike to a couple of waterfalls or settle into and watch the constant comings-and-goings of the hummingbirds. The breakfasts were the best I've had in my travels so far. The dinner was also delicious. I found this spot a wonderful quiet oasis to connect with the wonderful flora and fauna surrounding me. I can't recommend it enough.

The staff was incredible! Nancy was exceptional and went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable for the night. We were only there for one night but will definitely stay again when we are in the area. It was in a good location and the parking lot was secure so we felt very safe. We ordered room service and the gentleman who delivered it was very kind and showed us how to use the television. The food was delicious.

The food was good and reasonably priced, we had a great evening birdwatching from the restaurant. They were also able to hold on to a few of our extra bags while we climbed the mountain so that we could pick them up after. This was awesome and saved us the risk of keeping things overnight in our car or taking unnecessary weight up the mountain.

Vibrant busy city with lots of interesting things to see and do. Name a brand and you can find it in the stores although it may be a bit on the pricey side. The one thing that struck us almost immediately was how clean things are, and the people are warm, welcoming and patient with us folks who can barely speak Spanish.

It feels safe, even at night to walk around. lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Traffic is very heavy though and you have to pay attention crossing the street. Feels like an upper class neighborhood that is fairly well kept up. Also on the bus line and have never had a problem getting an Uber there.

Vista Canyon Inns was highly recommended by my Doctor and they did not disappoint me. Mr. Dr. and the hospital were minutes away and the hotel arranged all my transportation. Rivas is a great location to base yourself.

Rivas is a great location to base yourself. It's easily reachable from San Jose via good quality roads. Rivas has a great selection of national parks to visit, plenty of local restaurants and other attractions to visit and keep you busy. Additionally, it is close enough to the East coast to be a great base for day trips. We travelled to both Dominical and Uvita in under two hours. This puts a large number of other national parks within easy reach.

Excellent port of entry to visit lots of Costa Rican gems! Whether you are looking for adventure or chill beach vibes, this is the place with lots of access to tours from the city. And the city itself has a very robust historical, art and cultural experiences. Would recommend. Predominantly Spanish speaking, but lots of nationals will speak some English! So language barrier isn't a huge concern.
