It's all redone on the inside and outside, while attention was made to preserving historic features. Very private setting with partial view to the ocean. Away from the touristy centre, yet within a walking distance to the restaurants, either along the road next to the shore or via a beach walk. The cottage had everything one would need, cooking facilities, compact cappucino maker, heating, Netflix, outdoor private sitting areas, well maintained garden, even a washing machine. We didn't meet the hosts in person but they were very responsive to our queries and returned the calls immediately. It's wonderful that the owners welcome pet dogs and provide even water/food bowls and dog toys. The holiday home oozes with charm.

Just as it appears in the photos, this is a simply furnished perfect located cabin with lovely walks nearby. Bring food as there's not much to eat nearby. The couple running the place are lovely.

Tram Track Cosy Cabin Reserve is gelegen in Papatowai en biedt gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de rivier. Dit appartement heeft een tuin en gratis privéparkeren. I absolutely loved my stay here! The cabin includes a well-equipped kitchen and a clean & modern bathroom. There are also a lot of windows, so it was bright, welcoming, and comfortable inside. I also loved that there were heated blankets provided for the bed and a small space heater which helped keep me warm at night. There even was a small table with chairs on the porch, so one could have eaten outside (it was still a bit too cold outside for me to do that). You can also see the sheep from your windows :) Location-wise this cabin worked perfectly for me since I could easily do day trips exploring the Catlins as I was able to reach both Curio Bay and Nugget Point in a reasonable time. My last highlight was Mindy, the friendly dog, who would greet me sometimes and ask for belly rubs :)

Hilltop Accommodation Catlins is gelegen in Papatowai en biedt gratis WiFi, gratis privéparkeren en uitzicht op de rivier. The accommodation was very welcoming and cosy. Facilities were excellent (great heat pump). It was perfect. Such a fabulous view of the ocean and beautiful birdsong in the morning. Additional touches such as a picnic backpack for guests were really lovely.

Thomas's Catlins Lodge and Camp Ground is gelegen in Owaka in de regio Otago en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Slapen in een oud ziekenhuis, geweldig!!

Het Whistling Frog Resort beschikt over een terras en een eigen bar en restaurant. U kunt genieten van een tv-lounge en toegang tot een volledig uitgeruste gedeelde keuken. Prima plek in de Caitlins om te overnachten voor de volgende etappe. Lekker gegeten in het restaurant.
