We had an amazing experience staying at Barnes Cottage in Nuwara Eliya. The location was perfect—peaceful and scenic, just a short distance from Lovers Leap Waterfall and around 8–10 minutes from Nuwara Eliya town. Horton Plains was also conveniently nearby, which made our hiking plans easy. The host was incredibly caring and friendly—we felt truly looked after throughout our stay. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and came with a lovely wooden fireplace that added such a cozy touch, especially during the cold weather. A special thanks to the host for going above and beyond when my girlfriend twisted her leg while hiking in Horton Plains. It was raining heavily and freezing cold that day, and the host kindly helped us by lighting up the fireplace and making the room warm and comfortable for her to rest and recover. That level of care meant a lot to us. Overall, I would highly recommend Barnes Cottage to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya. The hospitality, location, and comfort make it a place worth returning to!

The place was so clean and very spacious than expected. The interior and exterior architecture with lighting arrangements was so beautiful at night. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality during our stay at Grounders River Cabin. The staff went out of their way to look after us and decorated the room with rose petals and love hearts for our honeymoon. The dinner was lovely, authentic Sri Lankan style and the room was clean, we had all we needed. We had the most perfect view of the river below and the constant sound of the river made for a wonderful sleep. Special thanks to the wonderful owner for taking us to the train station in the morning!
