Beautifully cooked authentic Albanian food. Edmond was our guide for a day taking us hiking to waterfalls and gorges. We highly recommend this place to stay.

Hotel Gjirokastër is located 300 metres from the centre, in a part of town famous for numerous museums. The hotel is surrounded by green gardens and large parks, while the building itself is made of traditional stone and wood. Free Wi-Fi and free parking are provided. Very clean and beautiful room with a good amount of space. I thought it might be a little old but it was very new feeling despite having so much character in the furniture and decor. Pool is small but great for the summer, pool towels available. There are 2 tortoises that live near the pool! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The hosts are very kind and thoughtful. Parking is free next to the hotel, hosts will help move your car if needed Excellent location. Right next to the downtown/Bazaar and a little further down is the castle (also close though!)
