Amazing location and view. Modern with every amenity. Appreciated the light breakfast/fruit and coffee as only one restaurant in town and not opening until noon. So relaxing with the ocean views,smells and sounds. Lovely beach walk.

The room is quite big and the view.. just the view is worth the money.. it's very close to the beach and possibly the only eatery in the town. You can just take the stairs down for a couple of mins or just drive down. It's a very homely stay and again..the view is just stunning. Just take note they just take cash so remember to keep some!

Everything from the location to the quality of the stay, it was by far the best accommodation Ive experienced for a short holiday trip. The fantastic view of the ocean from the large, window entrance brought up the melancholic mood everytime we gazed at it. Laura provided us with the utmost service during our stay with quick responses and understanding of what we requested. The bedding, kitchen equipment and the bathroom was very very clean. I would definitely book again next and recommend 100%

Jill and her team are wonderful hosts.Very welcoming and care so well for the needs of their guests If you value a spacious, comfy and nicely decorated room in a historical building with quite a story and also like recommendations about what to see in the area- this is the perfect place. We would definetetly come back as we felt well from the first contact.It is also the perfect location for the last stay out of the Catlins moving North or the first going South Thank you so much, Jill, hope to come by again

We were just looking for a nice accommodation after a couple weeks of hiking and little did we know that we would receive a real treat. The property is maintained with so much love for detail, we felt so much at peace winding down with that birdsong all around. Honestly, it was nearly like a Bridgerton movie set. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic (the home made fruit loaf is divine) and the sauna was just what we needed for our sore muscles. Highly recommend a stay at the Fern and Thistle, we had a wonderful time. The bathroom is not ensuite which was communicated to us beforehand and was not an issue at all.
