Very pleased, neat houses, good bed. so polite to guests location right on the accessible area. very happy with our safari arranged by the hotel.

We had a beautiful stay at Amba Kola, a slice of paradise in the Udawalawa jungle. We originally booked for 1 night but as soon as we arrived we were so warmly welcomed and loved the look and feel so much that we extended our stay. Janik and his family were incredible hosts, they treated us like family. Amba Kola is perfectly located on the edge of the National Park, which made it super easy to access safari tours. Tours are available to book onsite with their recommended tour guide, who we found to be so helpful, spoke very good English, and was amazing at spotting all of the wildlife on safari and relaying information. We saw many elephants as well as peacocks, deer, crocodiles, chameleons, iguanas, and so many different species of birdlife. Our room at Amba Kola was very relaxing and comfortable, we really loved the extra touch of an outdoor shower. We had the best food of our whole trip during our stay here, it truly was amazing. Janik’s mother, Mama Swarna, makes beautiful authentic home cooked meals, made from home grown and locally sourced fresh ingredients, and served with love. We have not stoped raving about it yet! Mama Swarna is a top rated cook and also offers traditional cooking classes. Janik, Greshan, and Sanju were so warm and friendly from the moment we arrived. Some of the most generous and happiest people we have met. They went out of their way to show us many of the local sights, and were always checking in on us with a smile to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We loved spending time petting and playing with their lovely dogs and cats, chilling in the beautiful garden, and enjoying a cool beer of an afternoon while playing a game of chess before dinner. We would not change a thing about our stay, every aspect was tastefully thought out and we enjoyed every moment, but the thing that really stood out and made our experience so special was being treated as part of this beautiful family.

Beautiful bedroom with nice balcony. All super clean. Milan is very friendly and helpfull. The food is delicious. All in all 10/10!

We had an exceptional stay at Tranquil Wild. The room was spotlessly clean, and the furniture was tastefully decorated. We were given a free room upgrade. The property's beautiful lake in front added to its charm. The Western and Sri Lankan food we enjoyed during our stay was outstanding. The owner of the property is very kind and personally ensures that guests are comfortable. She helped us book a Yala safari with a professional naturalist. We will definitely return. This property is a gem, and with the first-class service of the staff, there's no need to look further. We highly recommend staying at this property if you plan to visit Block 5 in Yala, as it is closer to Block 5.

I can highly recommend staying there and booking their safari tour! Very nice, big and clean room. There is no catch, its a very low price AND very nice! Perfectly located to be one of the first ones to enter the national park for the safari and avoid any queues. Very convenient, since the staff is super helpful and organized the safari and transport to my next destination for me. The price for the safari was about 1/3 cheaper than the cheapest offers on tripadvisor + the guide was excellent. He had an in-depth knowledge of the animals in the park and was very good at spotting animals too. He knows the park and where and when which animals most likely will be. + all the guides call each other when they spotted animals to give you the best experience possible. I took the safari from 5.30 to 12. I really liked staying longer than just until 9 there and seeing more animals and different parts of the park. Was totally worth it.

Best hotel on our 3-week trip! Staff Chanucka was amazing and made our stay perfect. Small kitchen, but the best rice & curry we have had!

Nalaka has everthing organized as requested, inclusive Safari & taxi. His Wife is an excellent cook and will prepare you Sri Lankan specialities and fresh organic fruits from their garden. Go there, you won't regret.

Our stay at Makulu Safari Camping was an absolute highlight of our Sri Lanka adventure. Nestled amidst the lush wilderness, this place offers a truly immersive experience. A Culinary Delight The food served at Makulu was hands-down the best we had during our entire trip. Every meal was a delicious surprise, showcasing the local flavors and fresh ingredients. Dining under the starry sky by the campfire was a magical experience. Wildlife Encounters Galore We were fortunate to witness an array of fascinating wildlife during our stay. From the majestic elephants to the intriguing land monitors, the camp's location provided ample opportunities for wildlife encounters. The early morning sounds of the jungle were a symphony for the ears. Everything was great, from the staff, to breakfast, safari organization. Also they allowed late check out since I didnt feel well. The owner is really friendly, they all are trying to make you feel really nice at property! Full reccomendation for this place :)
