This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.

Saginoyusou is gelegen op 24 km van Shinji-meer en 27 km van Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum, en biedt kamers in Yasugi. My first 10 rating. Our room was fantastic, with a large sitting area, separate sleeping area with comfortable beds and private outdoor onsen. Staff were uniformly friendly, helpful and polite. Our meals were excellent and very filling. Each large window in our room looked out on different areas of an impeccably designed garden. We are already planning our next visit.

Dormy Inn Izumo biedt 3-sterrenaccommodatie ligt in Izumo, op 6 km van Masakigaoka Park en 6,1 km van Hamayama Park. Privéparkeren kan worden geregeld tegen een meerprijs. It was close to Izumo station. The onsen spa area was wonderful. Extra amenities such as popsicles, yogurt and ramen and free washing machine made our trip easy and convenient. The rooms were spacious and also included pajamas and various toiletries. The staff were friendly and helpful. Easy to store luggage before or after checkout!

Matsue New Urban Hotel ligt in Matsue, op 17 minuten lopen van Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. The breakfast was fantastic! It was buffet styled (japanese and western styles) and it included local specialties, a great way to start your day! The room was big and nice, you could easily fit 3 large suitcases. The staff was super nice and they helped us to ship our luggage to the next hotel.

The onsen is fantastic, relaxing, well-maintained, and especially impressive because they allow tattoos, which is rare and very forward-thinking in Japan. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, with great amenities and everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is convenient and makes it easy to explore Masuda. Overall, a perfect mix of style, comfort, and hospitality. Highly recommended.
