It has a very traditional Japanese vibe. You leave your shoes in the lockers right after entrance, and you walk barefoot in the hotel. The place is very well kept. There are different pools in the onsen, and it's not crowded at all. I like the breakfast the best! There is a lot of options, both Japanese and Western. A bit pricey, but value for money.

Super nice hotel luxurious at very affordable price- close from Universal Studios (one stop by metro just in front of the hotel) and Osaka world expo). Staff so lovely and helpful.

Deze accommodatie in Nara ligt op slechts 3 minuten lopen van het JR-treinstation van Nara. I really can say that everything. Traditional in a modern way. We got free of charge soup for dinner, icepops, several other things. But that has only added to the experience, everything was really fine quality and the feel of careful planning and kindness.

J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse ligt in Hongu, op 10 minuten rijden of 70 minuten wandelen van de Kumano Kodo-pelgrimsroute vanaf Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. De buiten onsen in het bijzonder was magisch en heerlijk. De gezamenlijke woonkamer had een zeer authentieke Japanse uitstraling. Er was ook een gitaar waar je zomaar op kon spelen. Het is superschoon, de slaapzaal biedt privacy en je hebt een handig eigen lampje en kastje. ‘s ochtends is er Rice porridge gratis beschikbaar en de oploskoffie was erg lekker. Uitstekende locatie in een mooi dorp aan de Kumano Kodo. Echt onwijs fijn verbleven hier.

Morizuya ligt aan de centrale winkelstraat van de wijk Kinosaki Onsen en biedt authentieke accommodaties in Japanse stijl, warmwaterbronnen en Japanse gerechten. Staying at Morizuya was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. This cozy, family-run ryokan radiates warmth and hospitality. Manager Hachisuka and his family do everything they can to make you feel at home, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. The ryokan is charming and traditional. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable tatami room with beautiful décor and a view of a peaceful garden. The room included a private toilet and sink, while bathing is done in their private onsen (yes, private — no need to bathe with others if that makes you uncomfortable). Morizuya provides yukata for men and women, sandals, bags, towels, and an onsen pass for the town’s seven public baths. Women can also choose a kimono for going out around town and shopping, while men can (and should!) relax in their yukata for this same purpose. I especially want to highlight how Manager Hachisuka truly went above and beyond. He’s not only an excellent photographer — taking beautiful photos of my fiancée and me among the cherry blossoms and guiding us to great photo spots — but also incredibly kind and attentive. He personally helped us with our schedule and drove us to the station early in the morning to ensure we caught our train on time. That level of care is something we’ll never forget. If you’re unsure where to stay, I strongly recommend Morizuya. We left with beautiful and unforgettable memories of this warm and authentic experience in Kinosaki. A few quick tips about the bath: There are two onsen inside the inn. From 7 AM to 3 PM, they’re public (men/women separated). From 3 PM to 11 PM they become private — no reservation needed. If the door’s unlocked, it’s available. Go in, lock the door behind you and enjoy. You’re welcome to bathe with your family or partner. Be sure to shower and clean yourself before entering the bath. Walking around town in your yukata(or kimono) is part of the charm, so don’t be shy — it’s all part of the experience.

Bakery Hotel SHIRAHAMA ベーカリーホテル シラハマ bevindt zich in Shirahama in de regio Wakayama, op 14 minuten lopen van Shirahama Beach en biedt gratis WiFi, een barbecue, een terras en gratis privéparkeren. We love this place. It is very peaceful and a nice 15 minute walk to many restaurants and beach. The staff made us feel so welcome. The bakery is top notch. I have had very delicious baked goods in multiple European countries, and this is right up there. We thought at first the mattress was a little firm(this seems standard in Japan), but ended up sleeping well.

Akaishiya 城崎温泉旅館 赤石屋 is gelegen in Kinosaki, op 2,6 km van Kinumaki Shrine, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, gratis privéparkeren en een tuin. Amazing breakfast, high quality ingredients and well balanced. Very calming decor, newly renovated and very clean.
