The owners of the Pronkenburg Axel & Guy were lovely and they made us feel welcome and accommodated us with anything we needed. They really did go the extra mile. The Breakfast was superb too.

We had an excellent stay in this apartment. First of all, it is very, very clean and everything is brand new, which is really great. The apartment is perfectly suited for families with young children: there’s a high chair, a comfortable baby bed, and they even thought of toys for the kids, which our children really enjoyed! There’s a Carrefour Express very close by, and just one tram stop further you’ll find a Delhaize, which is very convenient for shopping. The internet connection is excellent, and so is the TV. Everything is well equipped for maximum comfort: the oven, the dishes — everything is modern and perfectly arranged. The apartment is also very close to the sea, which is super practical with little ones. There’s enough space to move around freely, even with young children. Plus, Knokke centre is only three tram stops away, so it’s easy to visit, enjoy the beach there, or have a nice meal in the centre. We were really happy with our stay and we highly recommend this apartment for families!

How often do you get the chance to live in a palace? This was the palace where Charles the Bold and his daughter Mary of Burgundy lived (and indeed where she passed). The hotel is beautiful and is nicely located in Bruges, close to everything but not in the middle of it all. That is to say, you get the best of both worlds. Our room had a city view with big windows, allowing you to see the entire Bruges skyline, listen to the bells, and see one of the golden statues of the Duke’s Palace that adorn the roofline. The bathroom was spacious and had a separate bathtub and shower cabin. There was a window from the bathroom into the main room, which was nice. Breakfast had many options, including a station where you could carve your own Belgium chocolate (dark, milk, and white) with a two-handled knife! There were lots of fresh fruit options, waffles, and even sparkling wine. Many standard breakfast foods were available in the buffet, but omelets and lactose-free coffee options are available when you ask. The back room of the dining area is a little dark and not as nice as the front part, which has a wall of windows which allows you to see the palace while you eat. A coffeemaker is in the room, and we asked for a tea kettle and bottle opener from the front desk. There is a nice souvenir store just around the corner that stays open later than the other stores and sells a good variety of Belgium beers (and other things). We enjoyed staying in the Palace and it added to the experience of being in historic Bruges.

- Location was very central and easily walkable to all places - Lemongrass shower gel and handwash was ideal - Bathtub was great for a warm soak in cold weather - Room was spacious and there were more than enough area to store luggage and clothings
