The location is fantastic, right across the road from the ski slopes. The hosts were so kind and accommodating (we were able to hire our ski gear and buy lift passes through them & they kindly drove our luggage to the bus stop for us when we were departing), the breakfasts were delicious, the facilities were very clean and we appreciated the washer and dryer facilities. Thank you so much!

Greg was a great host with amazing knowledge of local ski resorts, restaurants and general questions regarding Hakuba. The car is an elite bonus! The house was beautifully kept and had all essential items.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Penke Panke Lodge, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment I inquired about my stay, Justin and the entire staff were incredibly helpful, answering all my questions promptly and enthusiastically. One of the highlights of our stay was how the staff went above and beyond to assist us when our car got stuck in the snow—not once, but twice! Everything! We felt at home and we loved it. Such a beautiful place with great service and great people. The room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable and very cozy. (the pillow is hard, might no suit people that like soft pillow) the location is incredible, plus the fact that the best restaurant in Hakuba is right there in the hotel, made everything even more amazing. Onsen + Canada Tei in our hotel was the best combo for after the whole day skiing.

Its a typical japanese house or ryoukan. A polite old landlady is looking after the property and welcomed you. Since I arrived during off peak season (outside ski and hiking season in May), the property is less crowded and more relax. It is generally clean as typical japanese house. The landlady will ask you when to use bathroom so she can prepare the bath in advance and heat up the water (since its off peak season the heater will only be turned on occasionally and on-demand).

Hakuba Cottage Gram, a property with a garden and a terrace, is located in Hakuba, 7.2 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area, 44 km from Nagano Station, as well as 46 km from Zenkoji Temple.

Staying at Cottage Gram was a big highlight of our trip. Satoshi, Atsuko and Midori (who live next door) were so accommodating, offering to drive us around and book local restaurants etc. when we were not on the slopes. Really great location, about a 10 min walk from the nearest (+biggest) ski resort in Hakuba, Happo-one. The cottage itself is like something from a storybook, very very clean, extremely warm and young kids can have hours of fun playing in the snow or even sledding! Separate bedrooms and living/dining area too, and great kitchen if you decide to cook a few meals. Altogether can’t rate this place high enough 😊

Perfect location for ski in / ski out with good dry room facilities. Close to everything. Personal service and cooking by Kato was so good. Immediately responsive to any request. Exceptional service. So many things to like.
