Porto Vecchio is perfectly located at the very beginning of the Old Town, with everything the city has to offer within a two-minute walk: markets, an excellent ice cream shop, the promenade along the port with numerous restaurants, and narrow streets full of charming shops and views. The area is cozy and lively, capturing the true spirit of Chania’s historic center. Our room was simply delightful. Despite its relatively small size, it was exceptionally well-organized and equipped with everything we needed: an ironing board and iron, plates neatly tucked in drawers, cups, mugs, and a coffee machine. The balcony was small and without a view, but it was perfect for sitting in the evenings and soaking up the sounds of the city. In case of rain, there is no protection, so a plexiglass screen instead of the straw mat could improve comfort for the cushions and anyone sitting there. The view from the window was truly remarkable. We overlooked a narrow street with a beautiful view of the Centre of Traditional Folk Art and Culture, right across from the property. Leaning out of the window, people waved at me, thinking I was a local resident — I waved back, and it was such a charming and memorable experience. Chania can be busy and noisy, and many visitors often mention nightlife with loud music until late hours. Here, however, there are no nightclubs nearby, so although there is pedestrian traffic, we never heard loud music or disruptive noise — it was peaceful and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and well-appointed, and the provided toiletries were of excellent quality. The property offers an easy and flexible check-in with a code for the intercom and a room key card. We were also able to leave our luggage in a secure area after checkout, which made departure hassle-free. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly throughout our stay.

De locatie is prachtig – rustgevend en tegelijkertijd ideaal gelegen om de omgeving te verkennen. Vanaf deze locatie kan je veel van het westen van Kreta bezoeken. Onze kamer was fantastisch: ruim, brandschoon en werkelijk van alle gemakken voorzien. Over elk detail was nagedacht – zelfs de ijsklontjes lagen al klaar in de vriezer. Wat dit verblijf écht uniek maakt, is de kleinschaligheid (slechts 6 kamers) en de persoonlijke benadering. De eigenaars zijn hartelijk, betrokken en gastvrij. Ze nemen de tijd voor je, geven tips over de omgeving en zorgen ervoor dat je je meteen thuis voelt. Ook het ontbijt was erg goed. Elke ochtend genoten we van een vers bereid, gepersonaliseerd ontbijt – volledig afgestemd op onze voorkeuren. Een waar verwenmoment om de dag mee te beginnen. Kortom: een verblijf om nooit te vergeten. Alles klopte. Wij komen absoluut terug!
