Locanda Osteria Marascia is located in a tranquil area in Calolziocorte, 5 minutes’ drive from Lake Garlate. This rustic-style property features stone walls and wooden beamed ceilings throughout and has a restaurant serving regional cuisine. We traveled by train and had to walk 20 minutes to the hotel, which was not a problem as we traveled light. It is a very peaceful area near the river, in a decent small town. We walked it up and down. The locals are amiable. Has everything for a multiday stay. We used the train to visit Bergamo, which was very easy. We could take the train to Varenna/Bellagio easily, but we did not. We already visited those towns, but we preferred this place. We were looking for peace and to relax, and we found it. We booked one night but extended it to four. Breakfast: we felt treated like a queen and king, perfect. Once we had an excellent dinner, you must book it upfront, or else you will be too late. Room #03, the biggest one, is the one you need: More than excellent. Staff: from Owner, Chef, William, and all other helpers: 100% friendly and correct. Internet perfect. Privacy: 100%, Location 100%. We had to go, or else we would have extended the stay. And when we left, we took the train to Malpensa airport quickly, on time, and without any hassle. Conclusion: we had a perfect stay.

There’s a metro station just across the property but be warned it’s not in use anymore. The property is walking distance from a Lake Como area where you can spend the evening in beautiful ambience. We were on a 3 day trip to visit Lake Como towns like Como , Varenna , Bellagio etc.The location of Valmadrera is at one end of the lake. But, the rates of this property are very reasonable and cannot be matched in other lake Como towns.Besides , you can experience lake Como within walking distance ! Also, Lecco has connecting trains to every lake Como town. The family managing the property is super helpful, though only the young lady ( daughter ) can manage English. They even offered to drop us at Lecco train station at the end of our stay, which was touching.
