The imposing sandstone cliffs of the Heads form the gateway to the sea from the Knysna lagoon. In the 1800's Knysna was a thriving port with many cargo ships braving the treacherous entry at the Head for safe harbour entry in the lagoon. The lagoon today is still one of South Africa's most socially active stretches of water, with a wide variety of activities on its shores and waters.

Point Lodge offers secluded, friendly accommodation RIGHT AT THE WATER'S EDGE of the Knysna Lagoon. Extremely comfortable rooms, an excellent breakfast overlooking the estuary, sparkling pool and beautiful gardens. STAY. RELAX. REVIVE ! We also have SOLAR POWER in case of Load Shedding ( Lights , TV and WIFI )

Ferry trips, canoes, private yachts and ski boats all share the estuary, creating a holiday vista with a pace to suit anyone's taste. On land there are beautiful forests, hiking and mountain biking trails, golf courses and beaches. Leisure shopping, wonderful restaurants and cafes, quaint streets and local markets all add to the charm. The Knysna Quays Waterfront and Knysna Mall offer a selection of shops and restaurants which will delight any retail addict. Knysna offers adrenaline fulled adventures, Awe inspiring elephants in the forest, Surfing at Buffalo Bay. We have an extrensive local knowledge and can arrange any activities, tours and transfers.
