Kestell Stables self-catering guesthouse is situated in Waverley, the oldest suburb in the north of Bloemfontein. It has only three rooms, each equipped with DSTV, air conditioning, wi-fi and bathroom with spacious shower, basin and toilet. One larger room has a fully equipped kitchen, couch as well as a fireplace for the cold Free State winters. Each room leads out onto a delightful veranda, which serves as an extension of the room, to enjoy the lovely well-established garden and the tranquillity of the neighborhood. Braai facilities are available. This quiet cul de sac is protected by a security company guarding the street daily from 6 pm to 6 am. Each room has the convenience of onsite private covered parking. This house was originally the stables of this area when it was still a farm during the late 19th century. The roof of the house and the bedroom ceilings are original.

Franklin Game Reserve on Naval Hill, comprising of the digital Planetarium, the Nelson Mandela statue overlooking the city, and The Cutting Edge Restaurant. Waaihoek, where the ANC was founded. President Brand street with its national heritage buildings, including the Appeal Court, the Fourth Raadzaal, The City Hall, The National Literature Museum and the Old Presidency, Oliewenhuis and Grey College, a parallel medium school for boys, founded in 1855, the third oldest school in the country.
