A Journey of Adventure & Hospitality
Welcome to Moose-AKa's Cabins, where every stay is infused with passion, experience, and a deep commitment to hospitality.
Our adventure began in 2010 when we—Maja and Michael Waring—first set foot in Denali National Park. Like many drawn to Alaska’s untamed beauty, we started as seasonal employees. By 2013, we knew Denali wasn’t just a stop—it was home.
In 2015, we launched a humble food truck, bringing late-night eats to Healy. This venture thrived, leading us to open a second location in Kona, Hawaii. As our vision expanded, we introduced Moose-AKa’s Eastern European Restaurant, which climbed the national rankings, earning TripAdvisor’s #5 restaurant in the U.S. in 2023.
True entrepreneurs never stop dreaming. We wanted to take everything we’d learned—service, attention to detail, and hospitality—and create something even more unforgettable.
The Birth of Moose-AKa’s Cabins
Between 2020 and 2024, we explored over 100 accommodations across the U.S. and beyond, gaining inspiration for the perfect stay. Every detail—furniture, linens, décor, and amenities—was thoughtfully curated. Construction began in September 2024, paired with an 8,000-mile journey to source hand-selected furnishings, ensuring each cabin reflects comfort, character, and a spirit of adventure.
More Than a Stay—An Experience
Our mission is simple: to create a retreat that becomes a treasured part of your Alaskan journey.
Moose-AKa’s Cabins are designed to immerse guests in Denali’s breathtaking beauty. With future expansions planned, we look forward to welcoming you, sharing our vision, and helping you create lifelong memories in the heart of Alaska.
