Located just 7 miles from Fairbanks off Chena Hot Springs Road, this bed and breakfast features rooms with views of the Alaskan wilderness from private terraces. The Alaska Grizzly Lodge is one of the best places for Northern Lights viewing and hiking in Fairbanks. With a north-facing balcony and far enough outside of town to have almost no light pollution, guests can see the lights and go hiking right from their doorstep. It really feels like a home to many guests, and it's easy to get to town as well as the woods.
We have been in Alaska since 1978. Janet and I love Fairbanks. We bought the lodge in 2019 but we have been using it for our Aurora tours for many years. We are the second owners. This charming place has been operated as a lodge since 1999.
One of the best things about the lodge is that it's perched right on the edge of the wilderness. We've got a few neighbors around, but they're mostly moose, the occasionally grizzly, and birds. It's easy to get out and enjoy the Alaskan air from the front steps, or get into town if you need!
