Located at the top of a hill, at the end of the road and across from the track to St Paul's Rock, King's View Lodge is a serene and peaceful place to enjoy some of New Zealand's best scenery. Take in the expansive Whangaora Harbour views from our signature Harbor and Pool View Suites, both situated on the the Pool Deck. Enjoy a spa, swim in the pool, BBQ on the Weber, and watch the sunset from your veranda. The Harbour View and Pool View rooms feature a small kitchenette, outfitted with toaster, kettle, 2-burner hot plate, electric skillet, rice cooker, and air fryer, along with cutlery, crockery and pots/pans. Luxury touches such as bathrobes, premium amenities and streaming services such Amazon, Netflix and Neon will round out your stay. Our cozy Twin Room offers two comfortable single beds, along with a private ensuite at an economy price. While the twin room doesn't have the kitchenette, access to a microwave and refrigerator are available in the adjacent laundry facilities. Guest of the Twin Room may make use of the Pool and Spa on the Pool Deck. We are in a semi-rural area, on one acre, planted in mostly native New Zealand bush. We have a five or six chickens that free range and one small and very friendly dog, Pipi the Papillon. We welcome small boat trailers (please check for availability). A separate 4-tonne swing-block mooring may be available on a nightly basis for those traveling by boat. (please check with us first as it books out separately).
Lori is a transplanted American, a retired nurse, married to Garry, a New Zealander. Garry owned a business in the construction trade before retiring to Whangaroa. Both are avid anglers who head out fishing whenever the weather is good. A winter home in Hawaii feeds the year round fishing addiction.
Whangaroa is a small village of 168 residents. The focus of the area is the Whangaroa marina, The Sports Fishing club, Sport Fish Cafe and the world class marlin fishing. There are several Doc Tracks in the area, including St. Paul's Rock, which is at our doorstep. Nearest services are 10 kms away in Kaeo.
