66 Chaucer is a welcoming haven with all the amenities required by our guests. With free breakfast, unlimited WIFI, Freeview TV, small bar fridge, toaster, microwave, and tea & coffee making facilities, our aim is to make your visit a comfortable and memorable experience. We are a 10 minute walk from beautiful Cambridge, 10 minute drive from the Avantidrome and Lake Karapiro (the national sports venues for cycling & rowing) 30 minutes drive to the Hobbiton Movie Set at Matamata, 53 minutes from Waitomo Glowworm Caves, and 13 minutes from Mystery Creek Events Centre. Cambridge is also centrally located for Hamilton, Raglan, Rotorua, and Taupo.
In 2019 Cambridge was awarded the title of Most Beautiful Large Town in in New Zealand. It was commended as having "world class beauty" and a strong community spirit in the Keep New Zealand Beautiful annual awards. It is memorable for its leafy streets, heritage buildings, antique shops and thoroughbred horse studs. There is a Farmers Market every Saturday morning in the town and a Trash and Treasure Market every second Sunday of the month.
