Beautiful Elba is possible for a day trip and even Rome is only 2 hours away The Podere has been beautifully restored in traditional Tuscan construction with extensive use of the original farmhouse and local materials including stone, chestnut and terracotta. Originally dating back to the 9th century it is composed of 4 buildings grouped around a central courtyard with its own well, it is sited on a hill with 360 degree panoramic views of Volterra and surrounding countryside. I am am an Aerial Photographer from just outside London. I have always had a love of all things Italian and was fortunate to be able to purchase this property shortly after it was restored in 2008. I spend as much time as I can at the estate and have an Italian and English speaking manager of the property to greet and help my guests during their stay.

Volpaie is in a beautiful rural setting about 2km from the local village of Saline di Volterra with its restaurants , wood burning pizza restaurant, bars and shops. You have the larger hilltop Etruscan town of Volterra ( setting for the Twilight Books where the Volturi come from ) 15 minutes away with millennia of history and restaurants a plenty and the Tuscan beaches are around 30 minute drive away. Centrally located in Tuscany you are 1 hour from Sienna , Florence , Pisa and San Gimignano. You have everything, beautiful views from the property, pool, great local restaurants, even only 10 minutes away from Andrea Bocelli Teatro di Silenzio ( his home town and annual open air concert venue ). Food and wine is outstanding - the world renown Sassicaia wine comes from just down the road, and you have traditional Italian cooking , a stunning Vegetarian restaurant and wellness center, Pizza and fine dining all in reach.
