Borgo d'Asso is located in the heart of Tuscany, in the municipality of Montalcino, among the hills of Lucignano d'Asso. Nestled between rows of cypresses and centuries-old olive groves, this ancient medieval village is located among the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia, recognized as a world heritage site of humanity by UNESCO. The valley extends to the slopes of volcanic complex of Monte Amiata, where lush forests are alternate with expanses covered with cereals. The territory of the Crete Senesi, often described as a lunar landscape, is characterized by an expanse of gullies and biancane products by water erosion on clayey and sandy sediments. Home of an ancient Etruscan settlement, Lucignano d'Asso takes its name from the river Asso, a tributary of the river Orcia. Our farm house is aim to offer harmony, relax and privacy. Borgo d'Asso is certificated since 2002 with a biological and biodynamic farming system. Vegetables and fruits grow in the circle garden. Here you can find fresh prodcuts every day picking a full basket. The whole property it stands on a hilly area with a surface of 700 hectares mostly cultivated with cereals and legums. Crops are destined to produce seed, flour, and in few quantity, some different variety of pasta, made of durum wheat. We also have a land of 5000 olive trees which produce high quality extra vergine olive oil. Our winery covers 15 hectares which produce excelant Sangiovese, Merlot, Carbernet and Trebbiano.
