We are foremost sheep farmers but really enjoy nice and interesting people around us.

Property information

Grásteinn guesthouse is a family owned business in the pristine area of Þistilfjörður. Situated in the countryside for our guests to experience the piece and quiet of our vast property. Our guests can stay in two new built cottages with a great view on the porch, perfect to enjoy the midnight sun in June, stillness in the evenings or polar lights at winter. The cottages are furnished with a small kitchen, a sofa and a bathroom. Each house has a double bed and a easily accessible bunk bed above. Prices are with a breakfast basket included.

Neighbourhood information

The closest village is Þórshöfn (14 km) where you can find most of basic service s.a. grocery store, medical care, gas station, garage etc. Our property is idealistic for hiking and riding tours. Rauðanes peninsula is a exceptional place with marked hiking root (7 km). There you see a series of unusual rock formations, featuring collapsed caves, volcanic arches and varied birdlife, this is well and truly off the beaten track
