The village is home to several art galleries, shops, and restaurants, as well as a range of water-based activities, such as sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. One of the most iconic landmarks in St Mawes is St Mawes Castle, a 16th-century fortress built by Henry VIII to defend the coast against French invasion.
