It retains traditional timber framing and other charming features, but offers modern amenities like free Wi-Fi. There are traditionally furnished rooms in the 14th-century tower, the converted ballroom, and separate self-catering apartments. All have a flat-screen TV, iPod dock, tea/coffee and a spacious modern bathroom. Irton Hall has as on-site bar, lounge and restaurant offering locally sourced produce and local ales and a range of beverages. Hearty full English breakfasts are served in the lounge bar, with a selection of lighter continental options also available. The hall is set at the foothills of the western fells of the Lake District, between Wasdale and Eskdale. It is a 10-minute drive from the Ravenglass Miniature Steam Railway and Muncaster Castle, with its owl sanctuary.
