I am a Cabo Verdean-American who decided to move back to the islands a long time ago following a dream. I am aTEFL teacher and I currently live in Mindelo, S.Vicente. My daughter Sydney, who owns a beautiful B& B ( Syd's Prainha) is in charge of the property.
Achada Santo Antonio is one of the oldest and the largest town in Praia. It is in Txada (as it is called in Creole)Santo Antonio that our parliament meets(Assembleia Nacional) and where most embassies and the UU house is located. It is here that you will find the best grilled chicken ( Benfica and Dragoeiro) and fish ( Casa Nova), fried eel ( Julieta's), African food (Africafe), cuscus, katxupa, pastel and local specialties (Mercearia Andrade, Nos Cafe, and Ponto CV), homemade ice cream( Artica), traditional live music (Campanas) and the finest restaurants as well as all the other services that make a small town beat. From Txada Santo Antonio you can walk to the beaches ( Prainha and Kebra Kanela) for a swim or to sit by the seaside watching the waves crash and enjoying beautiful sunsets. Achada Santo Antonio is where you want to be to feel Praia ,its people and what makes it tick. Join us!
