I started DMG 13 years ago (when I was 26) after having skied all over the world. I have been a backpacker in over 80 countries and built DMG thinking of my favourite things, places, designs and most memorable times. ​ I first ran a ski chalet when I was 18, and thought to myself "One day... I'll be the guy who owns the chalet." Well, 8 years later I decided upon my favourite ski & summer resort, found a big old house with potential, wrote a business plan & actually made it happen. ​ 9 years on from that, and I've totally renovated the old chalet; increased its size in all directions, and got 3 wonderfully unique, top rated apartments (I live in the smallest, up in the rafters). ​ It has been a labour of love. Blood has been shed many times on scores of 16 hour shifts while myself and many friends over the years have strived to learn all trades in order to make this possible. Thankfully I still have all my fingers, and still enjoy building and working on Doug's Mountain Getaway. I am still a long way from losing my passion & desire for improving it further - all whilst helping my guests to experience this valley, get the most from it, and love it like I do!

There's Amazon Alexa, Spotify, Prime Video, Plex, Netflix; there's a secret door leading to a games room reminiscent of the 20's prohibition; do you like darts, poker tables, pro table football, and drinking? You'll love this room. Don't miss the hanging lamps made from snowboards, skis, skateboards and deer antlers; scores of board games resting on snowboard shelves; a large dining / games table with views over the surrounding mountains... We have a home-cinema sized TV which takes up the entire wall, to make sure that your whole group can get cosy on the massive sofa. There's a fully stocked kitchen next door, ready for preparing cheese fondue, raclettes and / or chocolate fountain parties with our range of fun kitchen utilities. The lobby is serene, where you can sit on velvet armchairs and play chess, sipping coffee from one of our coffee machines, whilst listening to a choice of old vinyls... There's even an old school 2-player arcade machine with literally all the classics on it... This place was built for experiences and enjoying life to the max.

It is a very quiet neighbourhood. Please don't disturb my neighbours. I won't accept single sex groups, stag parties (Junggesellenabschiedsfeier) or loud party people. I have had trouble before with disrespectful guests, so please do not book this apartment if you are likely to upset people (loud music + alcohol + windows open / smoking outside the house whilst talking loudly when it's late). Other than that problem, the area is just wonderful! There's a mountain directly behind the house, with forests, ski resorts, high wire rope park, stunning hikes, mountain biking etc etc. The infrastructure here will blow your mind. It is really second to none. Illuminated night hikes showcasing local foods; lifts running at 5am or 10pm for sunrise / sunset gondola visits up the mountains; designed downhill mountain bike trails; sommer toboggan; paragliding; the list is really quite exhaustive! Supermarket is 2 doors down; bars, restaurants and pubs are all walking distance (Fulpmes is only a small village!); it's a 30 second walk to the buses (free in winter) which go both ways along the valley, every 30 minutes, taking you to the lifts, other villages, ski resorts etc etc
