The guesthouse has a wonderful, communal atmosphere, with guests gathering in the kitchen to cook meals together or head out for a surf. The rooms were super comfortable, and the shower was great with fresh towels provided. The bikes provided make it easy to explore the town and different surf spots, and the selection of boards for rent is great. Emi and her family were always available if I needed anything, they are so kind offering helpful recommendations and even giving me a ride on a rainy day. They also invited me to join them for surf sessions, which was an unforgettable experience. I ended up extending my stay because it was such a great place, and I can’t wait to return someday!

It is a beautifully refurbished building located in a quiet street. Restaurants are nearby with many more options around the train station. All the facilities are beautifully kept and clean which made the stay at such an unique location the more special.

All units will provide guests with a fridge. I had a great time at Minam! The place itself is clean, comfortable, relaxing. The surrounding area is so beautiful and peaceful. Not many people with Many amazing beaches really close by. The people were fun and kind. Highly recommend and definitely want to come back! I think it’s the best place to experience the Amami life.

The owner is extremely helpful and kind, and made my short stay in Saiki a lot more meaningful and enjoyable than I expected.

Takako-san and her team were friendly, approachable and absolutely hospitable hosts; can see they’re genuine people who want their guests to have a pleasant stay, such as allowing flexibility for earlier check ins. Convenient location, accessible by tram (Chinatown station), not far to the main tourist destinations, and walkable from Nagasaki station (~15 mins). Room was clean and well-maintained overall. Washing machine and dryer are available to use at a reasonable price. Instructions for usage are clear and easy to follow. The reception / working area offers good views of Dejima and the Nakashima River. I particularly liked their self serve filtered coffee, it’s a nice unique perk that not many guest houses offer.

Situated in Akune, 24 km from Sendai-kō, Shioya Hostel features accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a shared lounge. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, and luggage storage for guests. Everything was so neatly organized. The rooms are built in style and equipped very carfully. Especially the bunk bedroom is very cozy. And of course, everything was spotlessly clean.

Probably the best hostel I’ve ever been to in Japan, the staff is absolutely lovely, there’s a bakery just underneath so it smells nice and breakfast has delicious bread. I even forgot something that the staff sent to me to another hotel. Best place to stay if you’re going to Mount Aso.

The place was really clean and well maintained. Highly recommend!
