Hostels in Maksimir

• Easy to reach from train and bus station. I walked from the train station but there are multiple trams from both to the nearest tram stop (called Frankopanska). A fellow traveller got an Uber and paid about €3. • The owner and staff were kind, friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. • I was in a 5-bed female dorm and it was clean, spacious and had plenty of lockers (key lock so you don’t need a padlock). I had a bottom bunk and having the privacy curtain was excellent. • Air-conditioning unit in the room (so necessary for summer in Croatia). • 2-minute walk to a small supermarket and other shops. 5-minute walk to a larger supermarket and food outlets. Less than a 10-minute walk to the main square and open-air food market. • Close to the main sights in the Old Town. • Hostel has a small guest fridge but no cooking facilities. • They provide a good, simple breakfast of coffee, juice, cornflakes, milk, toast with egg mayo, and bananas. • It’s not a party hostel, which I really liked as that’s not the vibe I’m after. • The bunk I was in had a small reading light (the upper bunks didn’t in the room I was in) and all beds had their own power point for charging electronics. • Rooms have electronic keypads to enter (using either a keycard or pin code). • The common area has two large couches, a TV and tables you can eat or work at. • WIFI is excellent. I was able to do a Zoom video call without issue and the connection was fast and consistent even when the hostel was full and everyone was on the internet. • Rooms are cleaned daily and bedding and towels are provided. • Note: they don’t have a washer or drier for guest use (only for staff to do hostel washing) however there’s a laundromat directly downstairs or you can do a sink wash and hang washing in the room. The room I was in had a coat rack and half a dozen coat hangers. Note: I’m a 46 year old solo female traveller from Australia. I stayed in a female dorm for 12 nights and I'd stay again.

Literally one the best hostels I ever been to! I really liked the atmosphere, the people there, the breakfast! Everything is to recommend this place

I was in a 4 bed dorm. While comparing the facilities, organization, cleaning, location and the price, the hostel is extremely good. One tiny detail I would have enjoyed would be the existence of a small locker or a box or at least a small platform to store small items for the top bunk beds or to be able to put items in charge properly without letting the them fall - not a big issue though.

The reception girl in the morning shift was very kind,friendly and helpful. I was given early check-in as requested. She guided me about the city attractions and the best food. The hostel is so near to the tram station and convenient to go walking to the city centre.

Excellent location, pleased with the price for the comfort provided, as there is something to compare with. I really liked Zagreb, so I’m looking forward to staying in this hotel again.

Everything was good. A nice cozy studio, clean and cheap.

My flight was 3 1/2 hours delayed from Canada on New Year's Eve, causing me to miss my connection to Zagreb, but the airline did manage to have me arrive in Zagreb 7 hours after originally scheduled, 30 minutes before New Year's midnight. I contacted the host from the Canada airport (as it was already morning there) and the host was so so kind letting me know not to worry, that they are waiting even if it's midnight, or just after midnight. This was unbelievable and so so kind. Thank you for your kindness, your hospitality dear host. Your accommodations were as expected and did not disappoint. I will be returning again at a future time. Thank you

I like the entire system.this is the lucky place for me.after staying only few days I got my job which was quite unexpected . Outstanding behavior of all the staff

A well organized hostel with very friendly staff and well equipped facilities. A large kitchen is a grwat plus. Cozy space for guests to have a leisure rest. An unexpected service which allows me to stay in the lobby until 11pm to catch my night bus is highly appreciative.

I really liked this place. It was quiet, clean, the location was perfect, and the staff were very kind.
