Unfortunately, at our first place, we didn’t have an ocean view, and we really wanted to make up for that. We were not disappointed here—there's a beautiful view, and if you get an apartment on the second floor, the view is even better. We had two rooms and a spacious kitchen. There was no hairdryer initially, but the host kindly provided one for us. The quick communication with the host was a big plus. Pipine was very considerate and offered us a cleaning service after 2-3 days of our stay. We declined since we are used to keeping things tidy ourselves. Another option available was the rental of a double kayak for 1000 rupees. I think this is a fair price, and we had a great time spending half a day on the kayak. We circled the island opposite and paddled to Crystal Rock Island—it was an amazing experience. The only downside I could mention is the parking. It can be difficult to park four cars, but I parked mine outside, and had no issues. Overall, I had an excellent experience at this place, and I would happily return.

Started our Mauritius holiday in the west,Tamarin/Black River, and have made a very good decision about our first “home” during the trip. It truely felt like home as we got part of Diane’s & Stephan’s (the hosts) family for our day’s staying there. Their house/garden/pool is lovely and we could use all facilities together with them, like the fantastic kitchen, living room, washing machine and so on. The Artist House is lying very close to several nice restaurants, very close to a huge supermarket London Way and the local beach is in 5 minute walking distance. A rented car will allow to visit the local attractions more easy, but the bus station is so near and using bus always worked fine. Stephan is a Chef and we cooked a tuna that we brought from fishing absolutely brilliant. We can fully recommend this place.

Great guesthouse with beautiful pool. Lovely owner who shares the best tips. There is a very good coffeeshop around the corner for breakfast, and nice local restaurants nearby.

Probably the most fantastic accommodation we have ever had in our 5 years travelling. In order: breathtaking view on the benitiers island, rooftop with barbecue with a 360 view on Le Morne and the wild forest, star gazing, bats and birds everywhere, fruits offered, private balcony with everything from coffee to all amenities and laundry. Top care by the cleaning lady, felt like a 5 star resort everyday. Close to the best beach on the island for snorkeling. We also had a private boat tour with an amazing guide by Bianca, learnt so much from the island as he has years of experience living here. Keep it up!

All staff were so welcoming, kind and attentive. The place is beautiful and cosy. For those who are seeking a peaceful and quiet stay, this is perfect. The location is also ideal to adventure to beaches and natural parks. Definitely recommend this place!

Le Gite du Bonheur Guest House & Car Rental ligt aan de westkust van het eiland Mauritius, aan de voet van de populaire berg La Tourelle en op 5 minuten rijden van het strand van Tamarin Bay. Son House Studio beschikt over een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een terras en gratis WiFi, en is gelegen in Flic-en-Flac, op 6 minuten lopen van Flic en Flac-strand en 8,4 km van Golfbaan Tamarina. My husband and I were very happy to stay. If you want to have a luxury experience then this place isn't the place to be for you. It is like a homestay, there's everything you need. The location is really good, the beach and restaurant are walking distance (within 7 min) The hosts are really friendly and helpful. Some reviews said the internet speed is low. But I could work smoothly(I didn't use video or voice call though) We didn't use kitchen for cooking. Gus stove with oven and pots are there. The washing machine isn't attached inside of your room, but it is outside for use. I am sure we will be back here if we come to Mauritius again !
