It was very easy to get to by car, and I was the only guest in the entire house. The owners are so nice, and always willing to chat with you. They don't know much English so it is better if you know Japanese. However, your stay will still be a very comfortable one as they go above and beyond to meet all your expectations.

The location is very peaceful, the Japanese style room was very prettily decorated and spacious, and the Miyako and her husband were fabulous hosts. They were so friendly and helpful, and made us feel very well cared for. Miyako prepared delicious and generous meals for us that were absolutely beautiful. She was also a huge help with arranging luggage transfer for us as we began our planned hike along the Michinoku trail. And she and her husband offered to drive us to and from Hachinohe station at a very reasonable rate, which is a big help and big time saver because Hachinohe is very spread out.

The kitchen is also very well equipped and the guesthouse is in a nice old part of the city.

The house was full of history and souvenirs which I'm sure the hosts are more than happy to talk to you about. There is also "sake nights" where the hosts offered us a chance to try different sakes. There is only one shower in the facility, so there is a booking system to reserve your shower slot.

Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse ligt in Matsushima, op 23 km van Sendai City Community Support Center en 5 minuten lopen van Entsuin Temple. Zeer schoon en erg vriendelijke host.

Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte ligt op 8 minuten lopen van skigebied Zao Onsen, en biedt een 3-sterrenaccommodatie in Zao Onsen en heeft een tuin, een restaurant en een bar. Fantastic location, right on Uwanodai slope - actual ski-in ski-out. Host was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and good value. Nice draught beer! Shower in room with a shared hot bath that could be booked for free. There's a ski/boot room in the basement that opens onto the slope. The decor is a bit dated but in a very charming way.

The hotel located right next to Zuishinmon so it’s very easy to hike Mt.Haguro from this location and also close to bus stop as well. The room is traditional Japanese room with futon and also air conditioner. The place has a shared bathroom and washroom. The food was very delicious. I had a very pleasant stay despite it was raining for two days straight. The lady who runs the hotel is also very helpful and kind towards a foreigner like me. Very recommended for people who would like to experience proper Japanese stays.
