Antonio was really nice and waited for me until midnight because the ferry was late. It is a 3 minutes walk from the port wich was very convinient as I arrived late. The view from my room on Pico and the church was veeeery pretty in the morning. And the breakfast was simple but good with various breads. . Will definitely recommend this place for someone arriving late by the ferry or want to stay a few days in Velas.

We had a very nice time at the home of Ruis, and we only wish we could stay longer. The house is very clean, the room we booked comes with a nice private bathroom, and we could also use the kitchen. The hosts waited for us at the port, as our boat was late, explained the most beautiful points on the island, and helped with our car rental, and found a taxi for the faja hike we did one day. In the evening we had very nice conversations with Rui the uncle, while listening to the most fantastic cries of the cagarro birds flying above our heads and the nearby rock - it is one of the most memorable things from this island. The house is 15-ish minutes walk to the center of Velas, as well a big supermarket. The whole town is very safe and pleasant. The island is very beautiful, with some dramatic scenery, and our most honest advice would be to stay longer on Sao Jorge, if possible. The faja hike is one of the most pleasant and enjoyable hikes we have done.

We stayed here only one night and we had a great time check in was easy we were able to deposit our luggage there early then check in times which enabled us to fully use the day! We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it!

A beautiful conversion of an old manor. Lots of original features including a little museum of artefacts from the old house. Beautiful shared spaces, wonderfully bright and modern rooms and extensive grounds. The host and owner were so welcoming and really want to hear your feedback. The breakfast was outstanding and more than you could possibly eat.

I don't know where to start. It has been the absolute best accommodation we have been staying at in a very long time. The hosts Lina and Rui are wonderful people and made us feel at home from day one. The views from their beautiful house are spectacular. The house (its actually a villa) is kept spotless and we were invited to use the kitchen, washing machine, the several terraces and pool. Lina and Rui asked us what they could do better and we didn't know what. All was perfect and we would love to return one day.
