Excellent hosts! They made our family feel like home and really went the extra mile. They made us eggs upon request (we are American and love eggs in the morning!), as well as went and purchased a baby bath for our little one! Additionally, they were very knowledgeable about Moncao, northern Portugal and close by Spain as well. They provided vegetarian restaraunt recommendations, local authors and poets, and top attractions to go visit! Rooms were very clean and overall the house is beautiful with gorgeous views!

The whole experience at casa caminho da ponte was superb! Let me start by saying that we had initially booked it for 2 days, but once we arrived there, we imediately extended for an extra day. Sr Joao and Dona Rosa were the best hosts ever. The location is hidden in the hills, but their daughter, Teresa, and and her husband Bruno were very helpful guiding us on how to get there. The place is located in the hills right outside Monção in this picturesque village called Riba de Mouro. The property is full of all kinds of fresh produce, herbs and all types of fruits from their beautiful garden overlooking the hills down below. It is located near the border of one of the entrances of the majestic Peneda-Geres national park. I booked a flyfishing day trip at the Minho River with a local guide. They gave us great suggestions for visiting the national park and where to eat traditional roasted young goat from the mountains. All in all, it was one of the best experiences we ever had. If you are looking for a quiet, pristine place in the country with great food, Alvarinho wine, and wonderful hospitality, this is the place to go. We highly recommend it!

The guest house was beautifully decorated and the triple glazing made the room quiet from outside noises. It was central, overlooking a pretty plaza with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby the host was extremely helpful.

Sonia and Antonio welcomed us warmly to their house in the hills. They shared their knowledge of the local area, where to go hiking, where to get a good meal and of course a bit of history. The breakfast spread was quite remarkable and included a variety of homemade delights. Thanks!!!
