We visited Horton Plains and were looking for a place that felt safe, peaceful, and like home — and Tea Sprig Villa Boralanda was the perfect find! This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with so much love. The clean fresh air, hot water, and beautiful surroundings made us feel like we were in heaven. We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

A nice big room with a comfortable bed and views out over the outskirts of the town and onto the tea plantations. There's also a common area with sofa and dining table. Breakfast that was included in the room price was good typical Sri Lankan. I also had an evening meal on both nights which was ok and saved me going into town but wasn't great if I'm honest. Location is around 15 minutes walk to Lovers Leap waterfall. And there's a bus stop a few minutes walk away where buses are every few minutes and cost 35 rupees in to the town centre.

It was a very nice and clean place with big beds and Ruchi with his wife are such kindhearted people. They went out of their way to make our stay nice. Breakfast was delicious. Ruchi took us to tea plantation too.

We loved our stay at Leisure Mount View. We booked 3 nights but stayed 4 as there was so much to do in the area and the hotel was fabulous. THE FOOD: We ate 3 dinners and 4 breakfasts at the hotel. The buffet dinner was delicious and offered more choice than anywhere else we've been in Sri Lanka. We also ordered from the menu one evening and the chicken biriyani was our favourite! The breakfast buffet was huge. On order were hoppers, toast with butter and jam, dahl, various sweet cakes, coconut string hoppers, as well as a lovely selection of fruit, fresh juices and tea/coffee. We were also offered eggs cooked however we liked. THE VIEW: Our big bedroom overlooked the incredible view of tea plantation fields and mountains. Each morning we opened the curtains and watched the sunrise. Beautiful. THE HOSPITALITY: Hashan and his team couldn't have done more for us. A printed folder, which included various local activities, including hikes, attractions (e.g Lipton Seat), massages, and a cooking class, was available at the reception to help plan our itinerary. We did the cooking class with Hashan's aunty and we loved it. We also enjoyed our chats with Hashan who shared lots of information about Sri Lankan life, culture and food. We were made to feel like we were more like old friends and not hotel guests.
