It was even better than i expected. Toshi and Haru were absolutely lovely and helped with anything you needed. The place itself is beautiful and really felt like a home. It is close to shuttles to both the ski fields and the nightlife. I would not stay anywhere else if i returned. It was an authentic, relaxing Japanese stay.

Wow wow WOW. We didn't want to leave. This place was amazing. The two onsens are super plush. The owners are amazing people and we would highly recommend eating breakfast and/or dinner with them.

Hakuba Skala Inn has both Western rooms and Japanese rooms, which have traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. All rooms are heated. The pension is run by a family and you can feel it. Very friendly and helpful service, spotless clean room, the best breakfast I have had in Japan, nice location by the woods, comfortable beds...everything is just perfect. I absolutely recommend.

Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay😁
