The room was a reasonable size and clean and in good decorative order. The bed was outstanding probably the largest and best we have ever slept in. A good thick mattress with a mattress topper on top so firm support with a soft top - just what you want after a day out walking. Good sturdy bed base so no creaking. We loved the breakfast, start with the 'continental' and then move on to the 'Full English' - perfect start for a day out. We also ate in the evening and there is a reasonable selection of choices on the menu. The homemade pies are excellent and the portions are large. The hotel has been tastefully decorated mixing modern colours and lighting with older features which all fit together well. Plenty of free parking opposite the hotel. Friendly and helpful host made the stay very enjoyable. Great location for the Peak District with walks direct from the hotel and many more ambitious walks and places to visit are available within short distances.

Beautiful little village. The rooms are located upstairs from the local pub, which makes it all the more cosy. We had a lovely balcony and enjoyed the sunshine in the morning! Very friendly staf!

Excellent in all respects. Nice room including a FRIDGE. Nice pub below, serving good food and every member of staff was excellent in c.s.. Especially Jess.

Everything was perfect! Not many places like this left. What a great view! And, Caroline! So charming. Hospitality at its best!

The whole place was adorable — full of charm, with a great balance between historic vibes and modern comfort. Breakfast was delicious, and the refurbished room was lovely. Felt like I was in a period drama (in the best way!).
