David has done a superb job and we only wished we had stayed longer. The meals on the vernada were superb quality and portion sizes were just right. We enjoyed a walk around the estate grounds. Highly recommended and would lend itself to a longer stay as a well located base and so much nicer than being in Kandy or a large impersonal hotel.

It was all so great I don't even know where to start from. The staff were super helpful and friendly (every single one of them), the food was Michelin-Star-Restaurant level, especially the Sri Lankan options, the rooms were very very clean, spacious, and so comfy that it was extremely relaxing even just staying on the balcony and listen to the birds, without any other sound disturbing in the surroundings. We stayed in the Garden View Chalet, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by all that nature (no TV in the rooms, that's a big plus!). The yoga lessons and the massages were also great, especially the afternoon yoga sessions with Rahul. In brief, if you really want to switch off and actually relax and take care of yourself, skip all the other places in the Hill Country and stay here instead. :)

The Heaven Sorabora in Mahiyangana heeft een 5-sterrenaccommodatie met een tuin en een restaurant. De accommodatie biedt roomservice en een 24-uursreceptie voor gasten. We verbleven in The Heaven Sorabora als tussenstop tussen Nuwara Eliya en Dambulla, en we zijn ontzettend blij dat we hiervoor gekozen hebben. An incredible place where you can sleep in luxury in the middle of the Sri Lankan jungle. The staff is wonderful and friendly, food was excellent. Everything's organic and fresh and homemade. So tasty!!! They their own cardamom ice cream, cardamom grows outside your room, as well as lemongrass and mini-guavas. Waking up to the breathtaking views of the Sri Lankan mountains, Going to sleep with the noises of the wet jungle- everything is an adventure in this place. (Watch out for bloodsucking leeches!) I did a half day trek up the knuckles range with their guide, thanks to him I was lucky to spot some leaf nose lizards. What a beautiful creature. Highly recommend this place.
