Het Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA ligt in Matera Sassi, dat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. Wat een droom. Alles is mooi, bijzonder, tot de puntjes verzorgd. Gratis een uur spa erbij en we hadden half pension geboekt dus we hebben ook nog heerlijk gedineerd in het restaurant. EEn omvergetelijk verblijf.

Vetera Matera is an absolute gem and one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the incredible care and attention to detail that has gone into restoring this historic property. The way they’ve blended the charm and heritage of the old building with elegant, modern interiors and thoughtful design is simply stunning. Every corner feels special, and it’s the kind of place where you just want to sit, take it all in, and enjoy the magical ambience. The location is perfect for exploring Matera, and the valet service made everything effortless. We left our car at their partner parking and were picked up directly, which made the whole arrival experience smooth and stress-free. Even though the hotel is relatively new, it feels like it has been welcoming guests for many years. That is a true credit to the management and the entire team, who were warm, professional, and made us feel so well looked after. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were delicious, and the whole atmosphere was romantic and unforgettable. Relais & Châteaux should be very proud to have Vetera Matera in their collection. We are already looking forward to coming back and cannot recommend it highly enough.

I stayed at Sant'Angelo Hotel for one night and I wouldn’t choose any other place for my stay in Matera! The hotel is located right in the heart of the old town, and from the moment I arrived, I felt completely immersed in the history of the city. The staff is incredibly welcoming and caring, always ready to help and ensure you have a pleasant stay. When we arrived, the driver Francesco was already waiting for us at the parking lot, ready to accompany us to the hotel. The first treat my partner and I received was a detailed explanation of the city map, which gave us a great first impression of Matera, along with a refreshing welcome drink. After that, they personally accompanied us to our room through a short walk, which made us feel truly special. We slept in a cave room with a private patio: an unforgettable experience that really made us feel connected to the past. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying the experience of staying in a room with a view! Highly recommended!

Palazzo Gattini Luxury Hotel - VRetreats is located in the Matera Sassi area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It offers free Wi-Fi, unique rooms with stone bathrooms, and access to the property's spa. De locatie!! Wat een uitzicht op de mooie stad! Het hotel zat ook in een prachtig palazzo, een heel oud pand. Het ontbijt was lekker en uitgebreid. Airconditioning deed het heel goed. Dakterras (rooftop) was ook heerlijk, wel hele dure cocktails 😉

Dimora storica Giorni resort & spa ligt in Pignola, op 10 km van National Archaeological Museum, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. The property was unbelievable! Historic, unique beautiful details and grounds. Each room was unique. The food was exceptional and staff so accommodating. We were in town for a family reunion in nearby Anzi. We felt as if we were staying with family. The pictures online don’t do it justice. This place is a gem! We will definitely be back.
