We ate every night on the roof terrace, which was beautiful overlooking the skyline of Quito. Ponchos and heaters were a lovely addition and the food was amazing! The service was exceptional, Dino in particular made our stay memorable! He managed to anticipate all our needs and we loved every minute of our stay. A truly amazing hotel!

Each accommodation at the 5-star hotel has garden views, and guests can enjoy access to a terrace and to a hot tub. The accommodation provides room service, a 24-hour front desk and organising tours for guests. Can't speak highly enough of this hotel. The concept of a 'boutique' hotel used to mean something - a smaller place where you would feel there was some kind of effort made to make your stay special or different. Nowadays it just gets used to mean any small hotel, but the ILLA is a true boutique hotel. They have 12 rooms in a beautifully renovated old colonial house near the historic centre of Quito (5-10 min walk). Everything about the place and your stay there has been thought about - from thoughtful little touches and gifts they leave for you outside the room, to daily 'experiences' with local artisans where you learn about and participate in Ecuadorian crafts. The staff are super attentive and helpful, the breakfast is excellent and the restaurant does very nice food (albeit on the pricey side). The rooms are extremely large (ours even had a separate 'reading room' attached to it) and well appointed. The hotel has several indoor and outdoor spaces for sitting and relaxing, and breakfast is served in a glass-walled restaurant with an incredible view of Quito & the mountains. There's a pool, though Quito can be fairly cold so it was not in use when we stayed. The location is on a small, pretty street ideally located for the historic centre without being right in it, and we found getting in, out and around super easy. At night, the whole neighbourhood is very quiet, so whether you feel that classifies as 'unsafe' depends on your approach to travel, but we walked home after dark on several occasions without feeling unsafe at all.

Clean, spacious and great decor. 24/7 coffee and tea making facilities. Food at the restaurant was excellent! Restaurant staff - her name might have been genesis, instead of simply handing us the menu she took the time to explain our food options. Dessert was so delicious and the chef kindly gave us extra chocolate to take with us because we liked it so much. We left our luggage there for a two day trip to Tena.
A chic hotel with traditional decorations and lovely staff made my stay very pleasant. The bright white fluffy towels with the golden embroidered hotel logo add a touch of luxury. Luna, the resident dog, made me feel at home.
Lovely staff, beautiful property and excellent location close to the historic district. The meals we ate there were also outstanding. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Great value for money, staff are outstanding, and lovely restaurant downstairs. Highly recommend!
A really exquisitely restored old Quito house - far more beautiful than the pictures do justice - right in the heart of the Old City, with huge rooms, comfy beds, and wonderful, super friendly and helpful hosts. Felt safe at all times. The owners made restaurant recommendations at our behest and both were superb. Bed was very comfortable and enormous. They even have a wine room with decent bottles sold with almost no mark up. Why would anyone choose to stay anywhere else in Quito!
Having spent 7 years in my business in hundred different hotels (mostly 4 and 5 stars) this was one of the top 20. Such a special atmosphere and internal hirstorical look. Having had even good dinner at evening. The dinner location (also for breakfast) is really amazing Also a small and nice garden for recreation....., nobody would expect.. From outside you never would expect this, but after being in .... It is also near the historical centre...
The property is marvellous. The staff is very professional, absolutely 5 star level. They have a great terrace and very nice restaurant.
It is a very cozy place with outstanding views. Stuff is very helpful and attentive. Jesica and Jose are awesome. The chef served the best maduro entree, and they have a nice selection of Ecuadorian wine, which is very cool, because I wanted to try it, but couldn’t find it anywhere.
